FAQ
HOW IS Cumming Senior Living ADDRESSING THE COVID PANDEMIC?To safeguard the health of our residents amid the heightened risks posed by COVID-19, Cumming Senior Living has implemented comprehensive measures. Our primary focus is on preventing the entry of the virus into our facility. Access to Cumming Senior Living is currently limited to essential services and compassionate care visits. All visitors must exhibit symptom-free status, adhere to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe distance from residents. We strongly discourage residents from leaving the premises, except for essential healthcare needs that cannot be addressed by visiting healthcare providers. Our diligent staff avoids public gatherings, undergoes symptom screening before each shift, and strictly adheres to relevant PPE protocols. We adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for Long-term Care Facilities.
The ideal time to contemplate a move to Cumming Senior Living is before a situation arises necessitating a swift relocation. Conducting research and exploring senior living options in advance can prevent hasty decision-making and allow you to find the most suitable home for your loved one.
Cumming Senior Living is specifically designed to provide attentive oversight and consistent assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for individuals requiring such support. We are not equipped to accommodate residents in need of skilled nursing care or those unable to exit the building with minimal assistance in emergency situations. We can assist you in determining if Cumming Senior Living aligns with the needs of your loved one.
While we do not have a secured memory care unit, Cumming Senior Living warmly welcomes residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s who are not at risk of leaving the premises. Our small-scale setting can be particularly well-suited for these residents.
Cumming Senior Living operates on a private pay basis and does not accept Medicare. However, some long-term care insurance plans may cover certain assisted living care costs. We are more than willing to assist you in exploring all available options.
We have residents who have successfully received VA Benefits, but the application process and meeting the Veterans Administration’s requirements are necessary. The specific benefit amount is determined by the VA based on eligibility. For detailed information on benefits, you can contact the Veterans Administration directly, and our staff can provide additional resources to aid your inquiries.
As a resident’s condition evolves, we conduct regular evaluations. In many cases, we coordinate home health, physical therapy, and even hospice services to allow residents to continue living comfortably at Cumming Senior Living. However, situations may arise where the demand for skilled nursing care necessitates a transition to a skilled nursing facility.
